The widespread use of antibiotics for more than seven decades has created a very serious and unforeseen health crisis.
A recent report by Centers for Disease Control (CDC) stated that around half of antibiotic prescriptions are not necessary. Another report from the World Health Organization (WHO) warned that the impact of such an overconsumption of antibiotics is catastrophic. Common bacteria are now evolving and generating resistance against a myriad of such commonly used antibiotics.
At least 2 million Americans are diagnosed with an antibiotic- resistant infection annually, and at least 23,000 people die every year as a result of antibiotic resistance.
The arsenal of antibiotics is proving less and less effective in combating antibiotic resistance.
This is of great concern. One of the most dangerous strains of resistant bacteria is called MRSA, short for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aurous. It is a bacterium that causes difficult-to-treat infections that are unresponsive to many antibiotics. Some strains are now immune to the most powerful last-resort antibiotic, vancomycin.
However, there is good news on the natural antibiotic front. British and Italian researchers* have proven that Hemp Extract has a built-in capacity to fight against such drug-resistant bacteria. They discovered that the cannabinoids in Hemp Extract are as effective at killing the bugs as vancomycin and other antibiotics.
At least six such major resistant bacteria have been tested. In all the cases, Hemp Extract turned out to be much more effective against such antibiotic resistant bacteria than any other antibiotic.
Topical applications as well as oral use of Hemp Extract have shown to be very effective in specifically killing drug-resistant bacteria.
